Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is getting $3.5 million in federal funds to reconstruct and relocate several taxiways.
The grant announced this week by the Federal Aviation Administration is part of a $170 million round of awards administered through the Airport Improvement Program. Manchester will use its funds to reconstruct Taxiway H and relocate Taxiway B to enhance safety at the airport.
“Our airfield infrastructure, it ages over time and needs a lot of attention. So we’ll be looking to do similar type of work in other parts of the airfield going forward,” said Tom Malafronte, Manchester’s deputy airport director.
The FAA distributes funds based on passenger volume. The decades-old program seeks to improve the nation’s airports.
